Dr Claus-Peter Echter is a scientific Heritage Consultant in private practice since 2008, based in Munich, Ger-many. He works on a European and international level. He is a member of ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) since 2007, an expert member of two ICOMOS International Scientific Committees on Historic Towns and Villages (CIVVIH) and on Shared Built Heritage (SBH), as Expert Member in the committee: "Shared Built Heritage (SBH)/Shared Heritage and Colonial Architecture" and in the committee: "Historic Towns and Villages (CIVVIH)" as Voting Expert Member. He is the president of CIVVIH since 2018. As a delegate he represented ICOMOS Germany as a at the 16th and 17th General Assemblies in Quebec/Canada (2008), Par-is (2011), Florence (2014) and Delhi (2017). In 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 he was a member of the World Her-itage Panel of ICOMOS for the evaluation of World Heritage nominations.
Since 2020 he is working as a Focal Point for ICOMOS at the UN-Habitat World Urban Campaign. In the same year he has been elected on behalf of ICOMOS as co-chair of the UN-Habitat World Urban Campaign Partner Constituent Group - PCG 10th Professionals.
Furthermore he is also a member of Europa Nostra, "the Voice for Cultural Heritage in Europe" (2007), Honor-ary Member of Europa Nostra Germany since 2019 and Council Member of Europa Nostra since 2012. He is specialized in urban conservation and has published many books and articles on Architectural History and (Urban) Monument Preservation.
His clients are: private and public international and national organisations, owners of historic buildings, expert groups, universities, municipalities, conservation offices, heritage organisations and -foundations.
